Privacy Policy

Cykel was built on one principle: your body data belongs to you, not us. Your cycle, symptoms, moods and notes never leave your device. This policy explains that in full — and the limited, anonymous technical data the app uses for crash reporting and ads.

Effective date: June 12, 2026  ·  Version 1.2

Your cycle data stays private Periods, symptoms, moods and notes never leave your phone. We cannot see them.
Encrypted on your device All health data is stored locally in an AES-256 encrypted database — nowhere else.
Only anonymous diagnostics Crash reports, basic usage stats and ads use no personal or health data — ever.

01

Who we are

Cykel is an Android period and cycle tracking application, developed by Abhishek M R, an independent developer. When this policy says "we", "us", or "Cykel", it refers to Abhishek M R as the developer of the Cykel app. You can reach us at feedback@cykel.in.

02

What information we collect

Your health and cycle data: none. Everything you log — period dates, flow, symptoms, moods, weight, notes and predictions — stays in an encrypted database on your device. We never receive, see, transmit, or store any of it. There is no account, no sign-up, and no email required to use the app.

Anonymous technical data: crash reports only. So we can keep the app stable, Cykel uses one Google service that collects anonymous, non-personal crash reports when the app malfunctions. There are no ads and no usage analytics. None of this includes your health or cycle data, your name, or your email. Full details are in section 06.

We operate no server that stores your personal data. Your cycle history cannot be accessed by us or anyone else — it lives only on your phone.

03

Where your data is stored

Everything you enter in Cykel — cycle dates, flow levels, symptoms, moods, notes, weight, predictions — is stored exclusively in a local database on your Android device. This database:

04

On-device AI assistant

The "Ask Cykel" assistant answers questions about your cycle using only the data you have logged. All inference happens entirely on your device using on-device logic — no queries, data, or results are ever sent to any AI cloud service, third-party API, or external server of any kind.

05

Backups and exports

Cykel lets you manually export your data as a file or back it up to a destination of your choice (for example, your personal cloud storage via your device's file system). These actions are entirely under your control:

06

Third-party services

Cykel uses exactly one third-party service. It never receives your health or cycle data:

Cykel contains no advertising SDKs and no analytics SDKs. It shows no ads and does not use your device's advertising identifier.

These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If you download Cykel from Google Play, Google's Play Store terms also apply to that transaction.

07

Android permissions

Cykel requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:

Cykel does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, call logs, or any other sensitive permission.

08

Children's privacy

Cykel is a general health tracking app intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only data leaving the device is the anonymous technical data described in section 06, which contains no personal identity. Any health data a user logs stays on the device, where a parent or guardian can review or delete it at any time.

09

Your rights

Because all your data lives on your device and we hold none of it, you already have full control:

There is no account to close and no server-side profile of your health data to delete. For the anonymous diagnostic data handled by Google, you can request deletion by contacting us at the email below.

10

Data retention

Your health and cycle data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, and is erased when you use "Delete all data" or uninstall Cykel. We hold none of it ourselves, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete.

The anonymous crash reports in section 06 are retained by Google according to its own schedule — typically around 90 days.

11

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date. If changes are material — for example, if a future version of the app were to collect any data — we will notify users via an in-app notice before the change takes effect.

We have no intention of changing the core principle: your data stays with you.
